Most of you might have read about this on various sites but I think it is important to mention here anyway. Eircom signed for the LLU (Local Loop Unbundling). So what that it mean ? It means that people willing to move away from Eircom to other providers such as Smart (for example 🙂 can do so now.

Funnily enough, Smart and Magnet are the big winners here whilst BT is not given a piece of the cake. There was apparently some tensions between eircom and BT lately. You can read all about it in that article from Silicon Republic. Anyway, that is good news I think, one more step towards freedom.
