I have been annoyed a few times by non-technical people referring to mp3 players as IPods. As if they’d been brainwashed and nothing else existed… That’s at least proof that Apple’s marketing is actually working full steam. In the bad news department, there is one which shocked me. If you clicked on the link before reading this, then you know how bad that is. iTunesDB is now protected and can no longer work straight away on Linux/BSD. That is a serious drawback if you ask me.
When my old Creative Zen dies (currently happily upgraded from a 60GB hdd to a 120GB a couple of months back), I will have to shop for a new slick device and there is one thing for sure, that won’t be an iPod.
