blocked on google+

A few months ago, I got banned for not using a real name on facebook. Well, guess what, this happened on google+ too. I am not pleased and I am not the only one. At the minute I can see other posts but cannot create new ones. I got the following message: Your profile is suspended. After reviewing your profile, we determined that some of the content (e.g. text, images, name) violates our Community Standards or our Names Policy. Please remember that we are currently limiting profiles to real people and will be launching a profile for businesses and other entities later this year.

Well I guess this is goodbye as I don’t take blackmail really well.

Excellent piece on ZDNET about the Google+ debacle. I am curious to see where it is likely to go.

  1. i was thinking about this after reading of others who have had their google accounts frozen. what happens with your android devices that sync with google? how effective are they without google?

  2. Well no, apparently only the social side of things gets blocked. From their AUP, I quote: Other Google products also reference your Google profile. So if your profile is suspended or deleted, these other products will not work anymore. For example, Buzz and +1’s currently require an active and functioning profile while Gmail and Blogger do not.
